Here is the first one. In Hinduism and Buddhism the mandala is symbolic of the universe. The Sanskrit meaning of mandala is circle. The circle is a sacred symbol to many cultures. In Native American it is seen as eternal nature. Some use it as a focal in meditation, some see it as a tool of healing and many of us just enjoy the beauty of them artistically.
